Are you a proven Engineering Manager who is naturally confident, an effective communicator with the ability to communicate with all levels of management, and able to lead and motivate your team to ensure complete customer satisfaction? Then this could be the role for you!

Experienced Engineering Manager required for a globally operating automated logistics equipment provider based at a large automated distribution centre in Northamptonshire. Seeking an experienced, preferably multi skilled Engineering / Maintenance Manager who can bring a wealth of knowledge ideally from within the logistics industry.

The Engineering / Maintenance Manager is the main contact for the client on site and is ultimately responsible for the overall performance of the maintenance team and effective delivery of the resident maintenance contract. The site is also going through a period of increased productivity and demand and so experience of this would be highly desirable

You will drive the maintenance team, ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out whilst adhering to current legislation. Possessing proficient Health & Safety awareness, you will also ensure that all work is carried out by your team, safely and within company guidelines.

Core skills desired:

  • Experience ideally from the logistics field with knowledge of conveyors, cranes, stackers and de-stackers
  • Knowledge and experience of PLC / Control systems
  • An understanding of WCS / WMS
  • An understanding and CMMS
  • Computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Exchange
  • Experienced in coaching and mentoring a team of maintenance engineers
  • Highly proficient with verbal and written communication skills

 

Qualifications required:

  • Recognised apprenticeship in engineering discipline.
  • Ideally holds recognised cross training from electrical to mechanical engineering
  • Minimum NVQ 3 / ONC / HNC level qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Ideally qualified to IEE Wiring Regulations 16th Edition or above.
  • Engineering team management experience essential
