This time of year gives a natural pause.
End of the financial year for many. Lighter mornings. A bit more energy.
And before everyone disappears into bank holidays, Easter eggs and hot cross buns… it is probably worth taking a moment.
Because if you are honest…
Winter can be hard work.
Reactive. Busy. Get through it.
So now is a good time to sense check a few things.
Are you on top of your 1 to 1s… properly?
Not just in the diary, but happening and actually useful.
Have you checked in with your team beyond the job list?
A quick walk and talk or coffee often tells you far more than a formal meeting.
Do you know where you are exposed for holidays and cover?
Because summer always comes round quicker than you think.
Have you said thank you recently?
Not a big initiative, just recognising the effort after a tough few months.
Are your leaders leading… or just coping?
And if it is the latter, what support do they need?
Spring does not need a big reset.
It is just a chance to tidy things up, refocus, and get back on top of the basics.
