Meet our Founding Director Ruth Forster

Commenced a career in recruitment in 1993.

Ruth started as an Administrator and progressed into a Trainee Recruitment role and then full Recruitment Consultant role.

She works on contract and permanent recruitment within the engineering and manufacturing sectors.

 

Established Wagstaff Recruitment in 2010.

  • Initially working alone and from home, established a boutique recruitment business of high quality, true recruitment consultancy.
  • Permanent, contract, retained and paid consultancy for a varied portfolio of clients again within engineering and manufacturing but developing into automated distribution and business support services.
  • Wagstaff Recruitment is now operated on a day to day basis by a core team of 5 recruitment professionals. Ruth being the figure head of business development, careers guidance and ensuring that Wagstaff Consultancy is always up to date on new recruitment and learning strategies.

Joined The Southern Staffordshire Employment & Skills Board in 2013.

  • Invited to join the employment and skills board as a business board member, the strategy of the board is to build connections between business and education to offer the region a consistent and balanced view of the available options in employment and skills (post school on FE, HE & Apprenticeships plus skills development in adult learning and careers).
  • In 2015, became Chair for the Southern Staffordshire Employment and Skills Board with the agenda of inspiring, igniting and returning skills within our region for the GBSLEP.

Became TEAM Specialist Director in 2014.

TEAM is a network of independent recruitment business who work together and share best practices, training and business. TEAM has been incremental in the success and growth of Wagstaff Recruitment as TEAM enables us to offer a wider recruitment service to our customers by working in partnership with our affiliates. This has resulted in us supporting our customers with additional recruitment services in other sectors such as marketing, IT and commercial professionals.

Joined the APPG (All Party Parliamentary Group) for Women and Enterprise in 2016.

Invited by Craig Tracey MP to join the group who meet on a monthly basis at Westminster to identify the challenges and offer advice and actions which would help women with opportunities in enterprise.  Currently Ruth leads the focus group around Employment & Skills.

Appointed Director of Skills for the Stephen Sutton Academy Trust in 2017.

Honoured to have been approached to become the Director of Skills for the Trust which was established in January 2017. Excited to be offering advice ensuring the skills offered for pupils is relevant, up to date and inspiring.
