Is your #opentowork banner on?

If your #opentowork banner is on, these job seeking tips could help you!

If you’re currently on the lookout for new job opportunities, I wanted to share some helpful tips that can make your journey a little smoother.

Job searching can sometimes feel overwhelming, but with the right mindset and approach, you can navigate this process effectively.

Here are some suggestions to consider:

LinkedIn:

  • Follow and Engage with Companies: Show interest in the companies you admire! Follow them on LinkedIn and don’t be afraid to like and comment on their posts. This way, you can increase your visibility and establish connections within those organisations. Request connections with hiring managers and talent acquisition teams. While not everyone may accept, some will, and these connections could open doors to exciting opportunities!
  • Leverage the power of your LinkedIn connections! Reach out to your own community and ask them if they know anyone in their network who might be able to assist you in your job search. You’ll be amazed at the valuable connections and opportunities that can arise through these connections.

Time Management:

  • If you are not working, please do not spend all day scrolling through job adverts and LinkedIn profiles, you will be exhausted! Set specific time blocks for your job search. Use this time wisely to explore opportunities, engage with others, and apply for positions. Remember, it’s essential to strike a balance and take care of your well-being too.

Reach Out and Connect:

  • Don’t underestimate the power of picking up the phone and having a conversation. Identify individuals in your network whom you trust and can lean on for support during your job search. Be honest about your journey, share your aspirations, and seek their guidance. Remember, you’re not alone in this journey, and there are people who genuinely want to help you succeed.

Create a Tracker:

  • Stay organised, develop a tracker to log the individuals you’ve reached out to, the dates of contact, and when you sent your CV. This will help you keep track of your progress and follow up appropriately. Don’t hesitate to reach out to recruiters and hiring managers, as you may need to be proactive in your job search.

⭐Request Testimonials:

  • Reach out to your former bosses and colleagues and kindly ask for testimonials regarding your work. Adding these testimonials to your LinkedIn profile will enhance your credibility and provide potential employers with valuable insights into your abilities and character.

Embrace Temporary/Contract/Interim Work:

  • Sometimes, unexpected doors open when you least expect them to. These positions can offer valuable experience, new connections, and who knows, they may even lead to unexpected permanent roles!

Wishing you all the best in your job search.

If there’s anything we can do to support you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
