VACANCY 959 | INVENTORY SHIFT MANAGER | FTC 6 MONTHS

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Inventory Supervisor / Manager to join this long established and world-famous retail business at their automated distribution centre in Derbyshire on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract.

As an Inventory / Stock Shift Manager on a 6-month Contract, you will be responsible for a team consisting of 2 x Team Leaders, 5 x Inventory Administrators and a team of Inventory Operators.

You will be responsible for ensuring Inventory is available within the 24/7 operating warehouse to fulfil orders placed via the company websites and for stores replenishment.

You will lead the Inventory team and monitor and drive the quality standards across the warehouse and provide the operations team with data, advice and support. You will be responsible for daily monitoring and analysis of Inventory trends to ensure the warehouse is on track to manage key events and deliver high customer service.

The role is shift based covering 12-hour Days and Nights as the site operates 24 / 7. You will work 7 Day Shifts in a 14 day period, and then 7 Night Shifts from 14 nights.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Inventory is available to fulfil orders to customers on time and in full.
  • WMS management, expert in Inventory processes and controls across warehouse functions.
  • Management Information reporting, associated investigations and problem solving.
  • Accountable for ensuring inventory controls are completed on time and in full.
  • Responsible for execution and monitoring of event readiness (e.g. sales) and end of product life activity.
  • Responsible for WMS inventory accuracy and integrity and aligned IT inventory systems.
  • People development, skills gap analysis and capability building for direct reports.

Key skills:

  • Strong analytical, mathematical and data analysis capability; advanced Excel skills; SQL report writing.
  • Ability to process data from various sources in an organised and logical manner.
  • Ability to coach team members and others to build capability to support improvements.
  • Experience within a high volume, automated logistics site, ideally within an Inventory role.
  • Experience with interrogating Warehouse Management and Warehouse Control Systems to problem solve and identify system improvement opportunities.
