Electrical Maintenance Engineer | £42,000

Continental Night Shift

Calling all night owls! We are looking for an electrically biased multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a large National food Group of companies that has been trading for over 100 years and has some excellent employee benefits including pension scheme and private health care.

Company:
There are over 17 different food companies with in the Group and these positions of Maintenance Engineers are required at an award winning company located in Leicester that supplies well-known high street retailers with chilled food products

Job role:
The successful maintenance engineer will be required to maximise machine availability and efficiency by both reactive and planned maintenance and repair of PLC driven food manufacturing, packaging and site service equipment.

  • Completing planned and breakdown maintenance repair work to manufacturing, packaging and site service equipment in line with food hygiene policies.
  • Timely resolution of manufacturing, packaging and site services breakdowns.
  • To minimise equipment downtime using a thorough and considered approach, within the food hygiene and health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensuring that maintenance plans and records are kept up to date, using computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Time served electrical apprenticeship to at least City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Multi skilled to cover electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience of PLC programming desirable.
  • Trained to 17th Edition Regulations.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of continuous improvement programs would be a distinct advantage.

This position will suit candidates that are or have been a maintenance engineer, maintenance technician or service engineer and ideally have food or fast moving consumer goods experience.
