Control Room Technician | Competitive Salary

Great new opportunity for an experienced Control Room Technician or an experienced warehouse professional with IT/systems experience to join an independent automotive aftermarket parts supplier at their new distribution Centre in North Derbyshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team which will support the setup of a new 200,000+ sq. ft. Distribution Centre, using state of the art automated storage systems. The facility will pick up to 150,000 units initially across 37k orders per day. With extension space the facility has the potential of handling in excess of 55k orders daily.

The Control Room Technician is responsible for ensuring that the product flow and systems are optimised throughout the site in order to achieve site and departmental targets.

The Control Room Technician will work closely with the Control Room Manager, Operations Team Managers, on-site IT Engineers and various other internal / external customers.

  • Warehouse IT, Control room & logistics experience ideal.
  • Commutable from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire & South Yorkshire.
  • Competitive salary + genuine good benefits package.
  • Monday to Friday morning and afternoon shift position.
  • The shifts are Monday to Friday 08.30-17.00 for 16 weeks and then 8 weeks at 12.00pm – 8.30pm.

The role of Control Room Technician will ideally suit someone with a good warehouse background and a good knowledge of WMS, automated equipment, product flow, monitoring performance, system optimisation, system investigations and root cause analysis.

If you have the following skills we would be really keen to talk to you:

  • Experience working within a highly automated site and have a proactive approach with the ability to understand complex technical detail.
  • Ability to analyse raw data and convert into meaningful management information.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Understanding and experience of Warehouse Control Systems and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced Control Room/Technical environment in an automated site.
